Items to correct or work on for the FRPCUG WEBSITE.

We have talked about and received Board Approval to get our FRPCUG website security certified and develop a secure member area for a telephone book, member list and mail address. Our process is to upgrade the FRPCUG account, purchase the certificate (completed end of Sept. '07), and decide how to populate the database and what we want to put on the members only site and how we want to publicize the presence of the members only stuff.... Our goal would be to undertake these changes by September 12, Board Meeting. 

 

10/20/07 -- Establish overall goal to separate content from formating in all web pages. This allows anyone to contribute to content and maintenance of our website, without having to program html or other formatting documents. This also allows database management and display without complex techniques. The data management is what web pages are about. Simplified displays are the goal and continuous improvement is the strategy.

 

• NAVIGATION PANEL:

PARTNERS:

Develop a partner LIST for the Navigation panel. What would we like for the Partners to do?  Define what we'd like and what we expect from them. Develop an activities list of the Partners... and get buy-in for the group.

Continue effort to get more members' websites represented

ACTIVITIES PHOTOS: Reduce photo size and provide "mouse-over" links to larger photos to improve the speed of loading.

 EXPAND & CATEGORIZE LINKS:

Should be organized in categories for membership browsing. 

OTHER COMPUTER BUSINESS: Commerial Computer Companies, Services, Hardware Merchants, Software Commercial and Specialty Design,

The APCUG link should be explained somewhere? The same is true of the MS MINDSHARE link. Why is Mindshare on our site? Can anyone tell the origin of this link?? 

ADD MEMBER CONSULTANT'S LIST: Survey members. (Completed but not satisfactorily so.)

We have: Engineers, Architect, System Administrator, College Dean, Financial Analyst/Consultant, Computer Consultants, we're aware of, but who among these would like to have a listing in the FRPCUG website? We are uncertain what is useful for members. 

ADD "CONTACT US" PAGE: For sending an email directly to contact@frpcug.org

 ADD DIRECT INPUT MEMBER APPLICATION PAGEand develop Paypal payment methodology...?
